This is one of those paintings, where the execution may not match an ambitious composition. I don't want to rework it right now, so will keep it aside so I can keep glancing at it from the corner of my eye. It's a view of Phelps Avenue at Route 2 in North Adams, which is actually the Appalachian Trail at this very spot. Not too many trees here, though you can see Mount Prospect in the background from which the trail ascends and descends.
