Passageway

Path, Field Farm, Williamstown, MA. 9x12 inches, pencil on paper. I drew this while on my walk the other day.  It's a path cut into the tall grass going into the woods that feels like a passage from one realm into another.

Entrance Mark

Reacquaintance Drawing

Hoosic River Tree, Williamstown, MA. 9x12 inches, pencil on paper. Since the weather is not cooperating, I will do a studio painting of the river.  I went back this afternoon to reacquaint myself with this location. 

Drawing in Grafton

Tracery of Tree Limbs

Actually, I was scouting out a place to paint when the weather improves. It's not meant to be a great drawing, but a study of the tracery of tree limbs against the river flow.

Slowly Awakening

For the Fun of It

A Booster Rocket

Cow Feeder, Sloan Road, Williamstown, MA. 8x10 inches, acrylic and pen and ink.  On Sloan Road there's an old barn, falling apart, a wild unkempt tree, and a cow feeder that looks like the remnant of a booster rocket.  

Half-Asleep Auto

Dean Street Auto, Brooklyn.  8x10 inches, acrylic paint with pen and ink on Bristol paper.  This dark van struck me as a half-asleep creature of some kind.

A Boat Drawing

Rocky Neck Boat, Gloucester, MA. 8x10 inches, acrylic wash and pen and ink on bristol paper. I'm playing with my new pen, applying wash first and then using the pen.  This way the ink will not run, and the lines and wash edges don't matchup giving some vibrancy to the drawing.

A Different Approach
