Pondering the View

Pond Drawing

Pond at Field Farm, Williamstown, MA. 9x12 inches, pencil on paper. What I am trying to do here is draw what can't be drawn easily, abundant bursting nature.  I've been looking at the English artist Tom Fairs, whose drawings display a mastery of drawing the impossible.

Wild and Jungly

In the Heat on the Path

Juggling On the North Trail

Passageway

Study of a Tree

It's a real study in the sense that I am trying to do something different and learn from it. When I first saw the tree three weeks ago, it was like Annie Dillard's tree with the lights in it. Time will tell what I've learned.

A Lively Tree

Slowly Awakening
