A Shadow Building

Painting, for me, is often a remembrance of a past moment, as this one, when a building was only present in its cast shadow upon another building.  The corner depicted is Franklin and Bergen in Brooklyn.  9x12 inches, oil on panel.

Atlantic Avenue Shuttle Bridge

This painting, started three weeks ago, has been noisily demanding attention until yesterday when I completed it.  It depicts a view of the Shuttle bridge at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn.  12x24 inches, oil on linen canvas.

Franklin Avenue Handrails

Franklin Avenue approaching Dean Street in Brooklyn offers a bunch of diagonal handrails, which have always appealed to me.  Maybe because of their complexity.  The perspective of receding rooflines across the street offers a softer, contrary diagonal.  6x8 oil on panel.
