I am delighted to report that my painting, "Monhegan Evening," was accepted for the exhibition "Land, Light, Water & Air" at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT.  The exhibition will be held from August 26th to October 25th.

I am happy to report that my painting "The Cold River," 8x16 inches, oil on panel, was accepted in the upcoming exhibition "Small Works: Harvest Light" to be held at the Monument Arts & Cultural Center in Bennington, VT from August 14 to November 1, 2026.

These two paintings, Hopkins Forest Winter, 6x8 gouache, and At North Pond, 8x10 oil, I am delighted to report, will be part of the exhibition, Small Works: Winter Stillness, to be held at the Monument Arts & Cultural Center, Bennington, VT, from February 12 to April 19, 2026.

These two paintings, Farm Road, Williamstown, MA. 9x12 inches, oil on panel, and Old Garage and Flowers, Mt. Hope Farm, 11x14 inches, oil on panel, have been juried into The Philadelphia Sketch Club's 161st Small Oils Exhibition.  Exhibition Dates: Sept 7 - Sept 28, 2025.

This painting and drawing of two abandoned farm carts from two different locations are included in the juried exhibition "Lost & Found: New England's Landscape" at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT.  The exhibition runs from July 9 to August 24.

Energy & Stillness Exhibition

My painting of King Street, Charleston, SC is included in the upcoming 2025 Juried Member Exhibition: Energy & Stillness at the Southern Vermont Arts Center from May 17 to June 15th.  Thank you to the juror Janie Cohen and the SVAC.

Paintings in Adams

This morning I put ten paintings on the walls of the Visitors Center in Adams, MA.  The Visitors Center is located next to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.  I hope you get a chance to see them. They will be there into October.

Exhibition News

Good news is always nice.  My painting "Above Fields 2" was juried into the North Shore Arts Arts Association's Exhibit New England '23 show and won the Milton Provoncha Family Award for an Outstanding Work of Art in Any Medium.  The exhibition is on view through July 29th at the NSAA, 11 Pirate's Lane, in Gloucester, MA.

Exhibition Award

My painting in the 2022 Rockport Art Association & Museum National Show received the Paul Goodnow Memorial Award for Traditional Landscape in Oil. I’m delighted and honored, as well as deeply grateful, because the exhibition has so many great artworks in it. Thank you. The exhibition runs through December 31.

Excellence in Any Medium

It's always great to get into a juried show.  It's fabulous to win an award.  My painting of the Monhegan fish shack in the "Exhibit New England 2022," at the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, MA, won the Brookline Bank Award for Excellence in Any Medium.  Needless to say, I am grateful, especially since there are a ton of wonderful works in the show.

Best Landscape

To my pleasant surprise, I learned today that my painting "Monhegan Clothesline" won the "Best Landscape" award in the 158th Annual Exhibition of Small Oil Paintings at the Philadelphia Sketch Club.

Exhibition in Gloucester

My painting of a fish shack on Monhegan Island, Maine will be included in the juried show "Exhibit New England" at the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, MA from June 24 through July 29.  The painting is 16x20 inches, oil on linen panel.

Brooklyn in Pittsfield

My painting of "Dean Street Near Classon, Brooklyn" is included in the juried exhibition "Art of the Hills: Visual Evidence" at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA.  The exhibition dates are June 4 - September 11th.  

Happy Report

I'm happy to report that these two paintings were juried into the 158th Annual Exhibition of Small Paintings at the Philadelphia Sketch Club. The first is "Monhegan Clothesline", 16x20 inches, and the second is "Nevins Street, Brooklyn", 6x8 inches, both oil on panel. The exhibition runs from May 9th to May 28th.

Last night I installed a few paintings at Tunnel City on Spring Street in Williamstown, MA. I hope you get a chance to visit and see them.

PUBLIC Display

Earlier today I installed twenty-six paintings at PUBLIC eat+drink in North Adams, MA. The paintings will be there until at least December.  They are a mix of North Adams, Williamstown, and Brooklyn paintings.  I hope you get a chance to see them!

Boat On Exhibition

My painting of the moored boat at the Marine Railways at Rocky Neck in Gloucester, I am delighted to say, was accepted into the exhibition Land & Light & Water & Air at the Bryan Memorial Art Gallery.  The exhibition will run from September 9th to November 7th.

I am happy to report that my painting of Mauserts Pond was accepted into the juried exhibition Land & Light & Water & Air 2020,  to be held at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT from September 10 to November 8.

Re-Opening of the SVAC

This the invitation for the reception for the Solo Shows and the re-opening of the Southern Vermont Arts Center next Saturday, July 4th from 3 - 5 pm.   If you are in the area, and are willing, please come.  The event will be set up for social distancing, and wearing masks is required.  Otherwise, you can visit on other days when there will be fewer people.
