A souvenir of Toulouse, France: the old Pont Neuf, the Garonne River and the Hotel-Dieu Saint Jacques.  The foliage is new.  Everything else is old.  14x18 oil on canvas.

Fairy Tale Street

It's still raining, so I went to Toulouse.  This street reminds me of an old fairy tale that I read when I was a kid.  I don't remember much about it except the pictures of narrow lanes with tall buildings and a boy who jumps off a bridge into a canal to find a lost key.  The painting is a 9x12 oil on panel.

Good Question

This 9x12 oil on panel is a view of a street in Toulouse, France.  I did this painting after developing a more involved thumbnail drawing than usual, and then following the thumbnail as the guide.  You might ask, why haven't you been doing that all along.  Well, good question.

Walking in Toulouse

A 9x12 oil on canvas painting of a view of a side street in Toulouse.  Toulouse is a wonderful city, not as stressful as Paris, and warmer being in the southwest of France.  It marks the start of a canal that runs from Garonne River all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, creating a link from the Atlantic Ocean.    The canal was built during the time of King Louis XIV.  What I found appealing about this view is the shadowy foreground.  I also like the walking figure below the sculpture.
