A more typical painting of the old city in Nice, France than my previously posted painting: a view of Rue Rossetti and beyond from Escalier Jules Eynaudi late in the day. Yesterday I stumbled across a landscape painter born in Nice, Charles Martin-Sauvaigo (1881-1970). What I find interesting about him is that he painted scenes of old Nice from at least one spot where I've painted before and he was also a good painter. 18x24 oil on canvas.
