Seemingly Non-Existent

In Preparation

In preparation for a larger landscape view from Stone Hill, I spent the afternoon on the hill painting the view.  Stone Hill is directly behind and above the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA.  I think I will be hanging out here a lot this summer.  12x16 inches, oil on linen panel.  

The Old Sun Dial

While painting this old farmhouse with its angles and projections for the fourth time, it suddenly turned into a sun dial.  I could tell what time it was from the location of the shadows and sunlight.  To get in the entire house, I used a larger panel and set up in the brambles across the road.  12x16 inches, oil on linen panel.

Morning Sunlight

Today I painted two versions of the old farmhouse in Williamstown, MA.  This is the first from this morning: more angles from the shadows of the morning sunlight. I couldn't fit the whole house on my panel.  9x12 inches, oil on linen panel.

On The San Sebastian River

When I was in St. Augustine, I made a number of small gouache paintings. Now I'm painting some larger versions in oil.  This is an abandoned boat on the San Sebastian River.  The egret really was there.  16x20 inches, oil on linen panel.

Every Angle

An old farmhouse in Williamstown, MA. My first time painting it.  I'll have to do it again from another angle.  Every angle has its rewards.  9x12 inches, oil on linen panel.

While On A Large Rock

The day was perfect for standing on a large rock in the middle of the Green River and painting what was in front of me at Mount Hope Park in Williamstown, MA.  8x16 inches, oil on linen panel.

Where A Brook Joins
