Greylock Works

 By chance we visited Greylock Works last night for outdoor dining.  The meal was wonderful, but driving out, I saw something else wonderful.   I came back this afternoon to make a couple sketches, one in oil and the other in charcoal pencil, while the sun lasted.  9x12 inches.

Nobody

 While working on this one, I kept expecting the cows to show up, but they never did.  The farmer has been working in the upper fields:  the tractors have torn up the dirt road. But I didn't see him either.  9x12 inches, oil on panel.

Rising Curtain

 A dark cloud from the day I did the other one: this dark cloud rose up like a curtain.  May all dark clouds rise up like curtains and disappear.  8x10 inches, oil on panel.

Busy Road

 After the sun came out, I went back to my favorite dirt road.  While I was there, it was busy.  The farmer brought three trailer loads of young cows to add to the herd.  I was told the next step for the herd is being bred to become dairy cows.  The bull, who I was told is not trustworthy, is in a nearby pasture, which I will not attempt to visit.

Dark Cloud

Two days ago I set up to paint some small, light clouds, but they disappeared quickly, replaced by a large, dark cloud.   I decided not to wait for the light clouds to return, which they eventually did an hour later.  8x10 inches, oil on panel.

Still Working

This painting I started four years ago, indicating at the time, that I may continue to work on it.  So I continued to work on it this past week.  30 x 32 inches, oil on canvas.

The Old Man And The Painting

This afternoon when I started this painting I was looking toward the sun.  By the time I finished it the sun was no longer shining.  The painting was getting away from me.   I kept hauling on the line, pulling harder and harder.  I don't remember what happened next.  9x12 inches, oil on panel.

A Large Painting

This is a large painting, 3 x 4 feet, that I just completed.  It depicts Mount Prospect on the right as seen from the top of a hay field off of Sloan Road in Williamstown, MA.  Oil on canvas.

In The Suburbs

While in the suburbs, I had an hour or so.  I wandered around the front yard, and then the back yard, before I set up in the front yard.  9x12 inches, oil on panel.
