Maine Coast in Color

This is the pastel version of the rocky coast near Spruce Head.

Though they tend to be wicked colorful, Mainers are reticent about displaying actual color. Fortunately, great artists have always done it for them.

Sam, Thanks. I am originally from New Hampshire! Lots of colorful folk there too.

It does look like I imagined it in color, only amped up a bit. I like it!

My comment got chopped. What I wanted to say is I like how well red works as a shade color on the rocks. But it wouldn't be able to pull it off without turquoise. Very inventive and it creates a new color reality, a color relationship that works but doesn't need to rely heavily on the local color. Hmmm, do I make myself clear?
