Bright Barn and Bright Ideas

This is a barn found on Route 43 in Williamstown, MA. It was one of those days when the sun kept appearing and disappearing. 8x10 on uart paper.

In the book How I Paint: Secrets of a Sunday Painter, a misleading title since he paints on every other day as well, Thomas Buechner writes "I am still uncomfortable with the person who says 'I've decided to be an artist' or 'I make art.' To me that's like saying 'I've decided to be a master' or 'I make masterpieces.' We can only decide to try."

what a beautiful area Williamstown, MA is -- especially that view on Rte 7 north by the 4 corners general store overlooking the fields and mountains! Something to ponder on that comment -- always feel a little silly saying "I am an artist" -- feel as if I should genuflect or something . . . ? Godd painting weather today -- enjoy!

Kelly, There's a fifth corner, Sloan Road that goes up towards Oblong Road, and if you turn around toward Greylock you see the Hopper. Sloan Road has nice barns and views.

next time I'm up in that area, I'll explore that route -- thanks for the tip!
