Dusk at Fourth and 2nd

11x14 pastel of Brooklyn on Fourth Avenue approaching 2nd Street.

The poet of Brooklyn, Harvey Shapiro, died last week.  He wrote a poem called "Cathedral".

I went out
and this thought rose
before me like a great cathedral
and it said:
Transcendence.  Transcendence.
Or at least
try a bit harder.

Oh, I've been to that church lots of times!
Good thought balloon, Harvey.

Hey, Sam. Thanks. Harvey left us a few things to think about and remember him.
