Dean and Grand


An 11x14 charcoal drawing and an 11x14 oil of the same Brooklyn corner. I could call this Brooklyn cubism.

Interesting that your Brooklyn paintings seem to feature red. I love red. But I think I've said that about your past paintings, haven't I? Perhaps I should just say, I love your use of red, whether you're painting a barren field or a Brooklyn street.

And the Matisse stuff? One of the best courses I've ever audited!

Sam, I guess I like Brooklyn because there's so much red, and I don't have to do barns to have an excuse to use it. Thanks for the Matisse comment.
