Hopper View II

This is an experiment. I did a quick underpainting with fairly thin acrylic, and then finished with pastel. I think I will try it again on the next pastel. This approach forces simplicity, which is what I am after. It's an 8x10 on Canson watercolor paper.

It's always a pleasure to visit your blog, Bob. I really admire the way you use color. If you find the acrylic paint leaves too much of a film you could try underpainting with them first then adding a layer of pumice (I use Golden Fine Pumice Gel) and then using pastels on top. I'm having fun playing with this combination on heavy watercolor paper. Since the underpainting is beneath the pumice I can cover it easily if I don't like it.
