Down the Road

Edge of a Cornfield, Williamstown, MA. 8x10 inches, oil on canvas panel.  Down the farmer's road, along the edge of the cornfield, you encounter goldenrod, more fields, and can see the distant mountains in Savoy.

Old Garage and Goldenrod, Williamstown, MA.  11x14 inches, oil on canvas panel.  I like painting a closer up landscape.

Afternoon Light

Afternoon Light at Field Farm, Williamstown, MA. 11x14 inches, oil on canvas panel.  The sunlight at this time, mid-late afternoon in mid-late August, is spectacular but it moves and fades quickly.  I tried to preserve some of it in this painting from yesterday.

Further Along

Pottery Studio Sink, Pownal, VT. 16x12 inches, oil on linen canvas.  This one I decided to push further along, adding more paint, more definition and more contrast.

Sitting On The Edge

Hay Bales, Field Farm, Williamstown, MA. 11x14 inches, oil on canvas panel.  Yesterday I found this hay bale sitting on the edge of the path and on the edge of the shadow.

So Much To See

Pottery Studio, Pownal, VT. 12x12 inches, oil on linen panel.  Quite often when there's so much to see, it's difficult to see anything.

On Exhibition

Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. 12x16 inches, oil on panel.  This painting will be part of the juried exhibition, Visions of Blue, from August 27th to October 26th, at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT.

Patterning

Pottery Studio, Pownal, VT.  14x11 inches, oil on canvas panel. With this view of the sink, I was able to include some patterning, which provides energy.

A Different Approach

Pottery Studio, Pownal, VT.  12x9 inches, pencil on paper. Yesterday, in a different approach, I made a drawing and blocked in a painting of two different interior views of the studio, with the intention of completing the two paintings as time allows.

A Life of Their Own

The Pottery Studio Sink, Pownal, VT.  16x12 inches, oil on linen canvas.  A more studied view. I've noticed over a short time that many of the things, sponges, containers, the faucet, change location or position, as if they had a life of their own.

Drawing From Life

Pottery Studio Sink, Pownal, VT. 12x9 inches, pencil on paper.  Currently, I'm working on a painting based upon this drawing and the previous oil sketch.
