Fragile, Beautiful
The fragile, beautiful, colorful, ancient, slightly seedy appearance of Eagle Street in North Adams, MA: I'm glad so far it has missed being renovated out of existence. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

Sunday Morning
This one I think I'm going to title "Sunday Morning" because there's nobody around. The painting depicts another North Adams, MA landmark, the Mohawk Theatre. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

North Adams Steeples
Since I'm doing city paintings, and I can take a hint, here's an iconic view of North Adams, MA. The big church on the left, St. Francis, was torn down in 2016. What was raised up was razed down. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

A Shadow Building
Painting, for me, is often a remembrance of a past moment, as this one, when a building was only present in its cast shadow upon another building. The corner depicted is Franklin and Bergen in Brooklyn. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

A Sunny Afternoon, A Warm Sidewalk
On a winter day, I wanted to remember a sunny afternoon in the city, a warm sidewalk, a quiet place, without much traffic or people. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

If The Sun Is Shining
If the sun is shining this winter, I try to get outside. This is a battered tree at the top of the hill behind the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

At The Jas
When at the Jas de Bouffan in Aix three and half years ago, I set up my easel in the field at the left to the space in front of the mansion. The mansion, which you can't see, is in the center-right of the painting behind the plane trees which border one side of the space leading to the house. Anyway, the sun streaks and tree shadows intrigued me then, but I can still feel today the excitement of painting at what for me is a sacred site. 9x12 inches, oil on board.

Winter Reality
Back to the reality of winter in the Berkshires: here's a view of the path on the backside of the frozen pond at Field Farm in Williamstown, MA. 9x12 inches, oil on panel.

Jas De Bouffan
This front corner view of the Jas de Bouffan in Aix I painted from the edge of a side clearing. The plane tree is the last one in a row leading up to the mansion. Cezanne lived and painted there for forty years. 9x12 inches, oil on board.

The Spirit of Cezanne
While looking at paintings and postings, I found that I never posted some paintings done in Aix over three years ago. At the time, the grounds in front of the Jas de Bouffan were open, though the building itself was not. I walked there and painted. The place was usually empty except for the spirit of Paul Cezanne. 9x12 inches, oil on linen.

Nice Balcony
Painting enables time travel. Last year about this time I was in Nice. This was the view from the balcony with the Clock Tower in old town. 12x16 inches, oil on panel.
